Jonathan pledges more youth empowerment programmes if elected

President Goodluck Jonathan has promised to utilize his second term in office if elected to empower and encourage more youths through youth-oriented programmes that would make them fit into leadership.

Disclosing this during a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) campaign at the Dan Anyiam Stadium in Owerri on Saturday, Jonathan said his administration was aware of the creative ability of the youths, particularly in sports and the entertainment industry, stressing that they must be encouraged and appreciated.

The President further stated that his government in recognition of the value of education in preparing the youths for the future had established 12 conventional and two specialised universities in the last six years.
