Andy Murray produced an unconvincing performance against India's
Yuki Bhambri but still advanced to the second round of the Australian
Open with a 6-3 6-4 7-6 (7/3) victory on Margaret Court Arena.
Fifth seed Ana Ivanovic crashed out of the Australian Open on
the opening day, losing in three sets to Czech world No 142 Lucie
Hradecka.
Ivanovic looked to be in charge of the contest on Rod Laver Arena
when she took the first set for the loss of just one game, but won just
five more to suffer only the second first-round loss of her career in
Melbourne, 1-6 6-3 6-2 in front of her stunned supporters at Rod Laver
Arena.
The former world No 1 reached the quarter-finals here last
year and came into the event on the back of reaching the final of the
recent WTA Tour event in Brisbane.
