Lionel Messi scored the rebound after his late
penalty had been saved to earn Barcelona a 1-0 win over Atletico Madrid
in their Copa del Rey quarter-final first-leg at the Nou Camp.
The
visitors had proved tough to break down for the majority of the match,
and restricted the Catalan giants to a handful of chances.
Luis Suarez should have broken the deadlock in the first half, but blazed over the bar from close-range.
However, as the game looked destined for stalemate, Messi tapped home
the winner after his penalty had been brilliantly saved by Jan Oblak in
the Atletico goal.
The tie is still finely poised ahead of
the return leg next Wednesday at the Vicente Calderon, with Atletico
still very much in with a chance of making the semi-finals. ...SkySports
