Daniel Sturridge in contention for Liverpool's Capital One Cup semi against Chelsea

Liverpool’s Daniel Sturridge will return to full training on Sunday and could be available for Tuesday’s Capital One Cup semi-final second-leg against Chelsea.

Meanwhile, Liverpool drew goalless to Bolton at home during the fourth round match of the FA Cup last night.

The 25-year-old striker has been struggling with a thigh problem and has not played for the Reds since August.

The England international has been sorely missed during Liverpool’s indifferent season so far but manager Brendan Rodgers has confirmed he will be available by next weekend.

Rodgers said: "Daniel starts training tomorrow with the team. He's in his final rehabilitation with the medical and sports science guys today and joins in with the group from now. It's just about getting football and game fitness."

“We'll see how he is for Tuesday. If he's not ready for Tuesday then he'll be back, for sure, against West Ham next weekend.” ...SkySports
