Man City's Silva cancels out Remy opener as Chelsea maintain five-point gap at the top

Chelsea maintained their five-point advantage over Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table after a disappointing stalemate at Stamford Bridge.

Loic Remy, in for suspended leading goalscorer Diego Costa, gave Chelsea the lead just before the interval but David Silva replied almost instantly for City after a rare error from goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois.

Frank Lampard admitted he enjoyed his "moment" with the Chelsea fans after his return to Stamford Bridge with Manchester City.

Lampard's City side earned a 1-1 draw with the Premier League leaders during a tight encounter, with the midfielder coming off the bench in the 77th minute.

But having finished last season with Chelsea not knowing whether he was going to leave the club, Lampard couldn't hide is delight after getting a fine reception after the final whistle.
