Villarreal booked their place in the Copa del Rey semi-finals with a 2-0 aggregate win over Getafe.
Gerard Moreno scored the only goal of the game on Wednesday night as
Marcelino’s side repeated the 1-0 scoreline from the first leg to set up
a meeting with Barcelona in the last four, being the first time in the club’s history to reach the semi-finals of the competition.
The other two semi-final spots were also up for grabs on Wednesday
night, with Athletic Bilbao seeing off Malaga 1-0 to take the aggregate
victory after a goalless first leg.
Ernesto Valverde’s men will take on Espanyol in the semi-final, after
they held off a late charge from Sevilla to make it through. ...SkySports
