Tina Challenor sits opposite husband David in their local diner and chats over a cuppa. It
is a monthly ritual they have carried out ever since they married two
decades ago. And every time, Tina is transported back to their first
date.
The couple, who have three children, met in their 20s in a
cafe in Coventry. It was the start of a whirlwind romance that led to
them moving in together 36 hours later.
David proposed after a month and, despite his parents trying to put a stop to it, they got married just over a year later.
And as they prepare to celebrate their 20th wedding anniversary, Tina, 46, says she is more in love than ever with David, 46.
“It
sounds like a cliche but I really do love him more each day,” she says.
“People thought we were young and stupid, and his parents weren’t happy
when we told them we were getting married.
“They didn’t think it would last, but we’ve more than proved them wrong.”
