African Football: Former Chelsea boss Avram Grant set for Ghana job

Avram Grant
Former Chelsea manager Avram Grant is on the verge of being named the new coach of Ghana.

The 59-year-old has agreed in principle to become the next Black Stars coach and succeed Kwesi Appiah who was sacked in September.

Grant, who guided Chelsea to the Champions League final in 2008, impressed the GFA during the interview process and he will lead them at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.
Agent Saif Rubie, who has brokered the deal, has confirmed the Israeli is excited at the prospect of taking over the Ghana team.
"We have had productive talks with the Ghana Football Associaton and they now see Avram as the right man to take the country forward," Rubie said.
"Avram is looking forward to challenge of managing Ghana and once a few minor things are sorted out the deal should be finalised.
"Avram cannot wait to get started and work with a country with a great history and potential in football." ...SkySports
