A man has been arrested after a woman was found shot dead close to Arsenal’s football ground.
The woman was found with severe injuries in Loraine Road, Holloway, north London, at around 9.35am, Scotland Yard said. Despite their efforts to save her she died at the scene.
A Metropolitan police spokesman said a 38-year-old man had been arrested on suspicion of murder and had been taken into custody at a north London police station.
He added: “A firearm has been recovered and will be forensically examined. At this early stage it is believed the arrested man and the woman are known to each other.”
The scene is around 400 metres from Arsenal’s Emirates stadium. ...The Guardian
