There was a report a day before the postponement of the Nigeria general elections was announced by the INEC chairman, Prof. Attahiru Jega that the president wants him sacked after being forced to announce the six weeks postponement. (Click here)
The successor to the out-going Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Chairman, Prof Attahiru Jega has been nominated according to Osun Defender.
The supposed In-coming INEC chairman is Prof Nazim Olufemi Mimiko, a professor
of Political Science and International Relation and a former VC of
Adekunle Ajasin University, Ondo State.
The embattled Prof Jega will be officially proceeding on his three
months terminal leave with effect from March 1, 2015 in compliance with
the civil service procedure. This, the powers that be, want to see it materialise as his tenure ends by end of June, 2015.
