Lagos doctors accuse Fashola of victimisation

Gov. Fashola

Doctors under the aegis of the Medical Guild in Lagos State have accused the Babatunde Fashola-led administration of victimisation.

According to them, the government is not only carrying out selective justice against them but is also withholding their August and September salaries.

The doctors, who are in the employ of the state, alleged that the authorities were punishing them due to their involvement in the last strike embarked upon by the Nigerian Medical Association.

The Chairman of the Guild, Dr. Biyi Kufo, who spoke at briefing in Lagos, said the state government’s ploy was a “calculated move” to provoke them to embark on another strike.

Querying the government’s decision, Kufo wondered why their salaries were withheld on the pretext of the no work, no pay policy. ...Punch
