ATP Paris Masters: Tomas Berdych qualifies for World Tour Finals as Milos Raonic remains in the hunt

Tomas Berdych
Milos Raonic kept alive his hopes of reaching the ATP World Tour Finals by knocking Roger Federer out of the Paris Masters.

The Canadian recorded his first win over Federer at the seventh attempt, his impressive 7-6 (7/5) 7-5 triumph booking him a semi-final showdown with Tomas Berdych.

It also means the seventh seed remains firmly in the race to qualify for London, though he needs to win the tournament in the French capital to make certain of his place in the eight-man field for the season-ending event.
Defeat for second seed Federer, his first in 15 matches, means a major blow in his bid to overtake Novak Djokovic at the top of the world rankings.
Berdych, meanwhile, booked his ticket for the World Tour Finals with a 6-7 (4-7) 6-4 6-4 victory against Kevin Anderson in the first match of the day.
Berdych’s victory means there are now only two places left at the season-ending event in London, Djokovic, Federer, Stanislas Wawrinka, Andy Murray and Marin Cilic are already certain of playing at the O2. ...Skysports
