P​olice officer accused of attempting to steal ​firearms kills self in detention

Nanbol Audu, a police armament officer in Kaduna State, who was arrested while reportedly attempting to steal firearms from the command’s armoury (Read), has committed suicide.

Premium Times reports that the late Audu, a Deputy Superintendent of Police, DSP, “killed himself” early Friday.

The State Commissioner of Police, Umar Ambursa, who confirmed the incident said, “Yes, but he was not killed, he killed himself early this morning around 5a.m. in detention. We will let you know the details later”.
