The APC Presidential Campaign
Organization (APCPCO) on Monday advised President Goodluck Jonathan to
quit the presidential race having admitted that he underestimated the
Boko Haram insurgency.
In a statement,
APC said it has information from credible sources that a fake Abubakar
Shekau, leader of the Boko Haram sect might become a tool by the
Jonathan administration to blackmail members of the opposition,
especially Buhari.
APC alleged that the purported Abubakar Shekau
would be coached to say he was working for the opposition party
candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari in order to link its presidential
candidate to terrorism as it had attempted but failed in the past.
Signed by Shehu Garba, the Director of Media and Publicity of the
APCOPC, the party wondered where the ‘new Shekau’ will come from after
government at several times in the past, announced that they had killed
the insurgent leader.
