Jose Mourinho has had a small dig at Arsene Wenger and his Arsenal side, saying that they need to deliver "more".
The Gunners moved up to third place in the Premier League table on
Saturday afternoon, but are still 12 points off leaders Chelsea, despite
the fact that the Blues dropped points to Burnley.
Mourinho admits that he is actually a fan of Arsenal and their style of play, but with the players that they have available to them, they should be challenging for the championship.
Arsenal last won the title in 2004 - a record Mourinho thinks should
have been improved on with the calibre of players they have available to
them.
"I don't understand why they are not up there with Chelsea and Manchester City," said Mourinho, speaking during his controversial SkySports blast on Sunday appearance on Sunday morning.
"Arsenal are a team I like very much. They have very good players and
Alexis (Sanchez) is a very important player to add to what they have
got. They are a team for more."
On Wenger, he believes that he has got one of football's "dream
jobs", because he has kept the job for so long, with so much support,
despite struggling in recent years.
The FA Cup triumph of last season was Wenger's first in nearly a
decade, despite continually guiding the Gunners to the top four.
Mourinho said: "He has a dream job, everyone would love to have the
security he has of being manager year after year after year. He won so
many titles in a certain period and that gave him that credibility he
deserves. He is obviously a fantastic manager. He has a fantastic
situation to be successful."
"When you look at the players in the squad, they are capable of playing very good football."
Arsenal, who have twice taken points from Manchester City this
season, host Chelsea at the end of April, in what could be a key game in
the Premier League title race.
