Kim Kardashian has EMERGENCY surgery as fertility struggle continues

Kim Kardashian has been left heartbroken after doctors told her she must look into having a surrogate if she wants to have another baby.

The devastated star was rushed to hospital to undergo an emergency operation to remove some of her placenta from her uterus after she and her rapper husband Kanye West announced they were conceiving a brother or sister for little North, 22 months.

Kim, 34, was told by a fertility expert that she may not be able to carry a baby without any risk so the only way to ensure a safe pregnancy is to allow another woman to have it for her.

Fighting back tears, Kim said of her hell: “There is nothing more on this earth that I want more than to be pregnant again and to go through that experience, I would pay any amount of money to have that.

“Surrogacy is really scary for me, I don't want one, I don't want that to be my reality. It's my last resort, surrogacy. As much as I hated being pregnant, and I complained every step of the way and joked that I didn't want one, I really don't want a surrogate.

“I wouldn't dare ask anyone to do this for me. It freaks me out, what if they're a lunatic, what if they run off with my baby? I can't do it, I just can't.”

Kris, who was with Kim at the hospital then suggested her big sister, Kourtney, would carry the baby.

Kim replied: “It would be so annoying if I couldn't carry my own baby.”

In the forthcoming episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, Kim was seen going to the Beverly Hills clinic for the procedure. It came after she revealed that part of the placenta went back into her body because some of it was stuck to her uterus, leaving the doctor to have to scrape it away from the lining.

While at the hospital, where Kim was accompanied by mum Kris, fertility specialist Dr Huang explained how he was going to look inside her uterus and remove any bits of the placenta left after she had North.

He said that anything in there will get in the way of Kim getting pregnant. However, he didn't promise that the operation would guarantee her having the second child she so longs for.

Dr Huang said: “You can still get pregnant but it does expose you to risks during the pregnancy, I can't guarantee that. Surrogacy is the only way to give you a nice, healthy pregnancy and a nice healthy baby.

“I'm going to do everything I can to clean your uterus out and keep it as healthy as possible, but do what's safe for you.”
