Arsenal striker Yaya Sanogo appears to be on the cusp of joining Bordeaux on loan for the rest of the season.
The France U21 international joined the Gunners from Ligue 1 side
Auxerre in 2013 but has struggled to make an impact, making just eight
starts.
Manager Arsene Wenger had high hopes for the
21-year-old after a strong showing in pre-season but he has scored just
one goal in six appearances this term.
Bordeaux, who are
sixth in France’s top division, have been in discussions with the North
London club and Sanogo’s representatives for several days.
And
their president Jean-Louis Triaud told French radio Soir de Foot (or
‘Football Evening’): “He wants to come to us – it’s a certainty.
"We are working on Sanogo’s arrival and the goal is to have him available for the Monaco game on Sunday."
“We asked for Arsenal to keep us informed. They have given me a response
date of either Tuesday or Wednesday and I have explained to them that I
would prefer Tuesday.” ...SkySports
