The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC,
Muhammed Buhari, on Thursday in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, pledged to
revamp the agricultural and power sectors, if elected.
Mr. Buhari made the pledge at a campaign rally.
He was accompanied by John Oyegun, the National Chairman of the APC;
Timipre Sylva, a former Governor of Bayelsa; Governor Rotimi Amaechi of
Rivers and other chieftains of the party.
Mr. Buhari noted that Bayelsa was blessed with suitable climate and
fertile land for large-scale agriculture, which could be harnessed to
drive economic development.
He said that power was critical to unlock the potential of Nigerian
entrepreneurs and would be a cardinal part of his economic programme.
Mr. Buhari also promised to embark on skills acquisition and empowerment schemes for unemployed youths in the state.
On corruption, the former Head of State said his administration would compel anyone caught stealing public fund to return it.
He urged registered voters in the state to collect their permanent voter cards before the February 14 general elections. ...PremiumTimes
