Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich sets sights on signing £200m Lionel Messi in 2015

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has set his target of 2015 to bring Barcelona star Lionel Messi to Stamford Bridge, UK’s Express reports.

Messi has long been linked with a big-money move to the Premier League, with Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester City and United all credited with an interest.

The Argentine skipper has repeatedly knocked back the interest from England’s top-flight with numerous contract renewals.

However – according to today’s reports in Spain – Abramovich is looking to sign the 27-year-old for the Blues in the summer of 2015.

The Russian billionaire is hoping boss Jose Mourinho can claim both the Premier League and Champions League title to lure Messi away from the Camp Nou.

The Stamford Bridge outfit are expected to make an offer in the region of £200m, despite Mourinho’s ongoing concerns over Financial Fair Play regulations.

“No I have no chance of that,” The Portuguese has previously said on the speculation.

“Because at this moment there is Financial Fair Play and with the Financial Fair Play we have to follow certain rules, certain numbers and we obviously have no conditions to buy, as you say a ‘super amazing player’ paid with ‘super amazing numbers’ that Chelsea at this moment we cannot do.”
