Suarez says, "Messi’s time at Barcelona could be over...”
Former Barcelona star Luis Suarez has admitted that Lionel Messi’s time at the Camp Nou may be up.
Messi has fallen out with club president Josep Bartomeu and is not on good terms with coach Luis Enrique.
There
has been speculations about the Argentina captain’s future in the past
few days and Suarez has said Messi might be tempted by a big offer.
Ebola drug trial starts in Liberia
A trial of a potential drug to treat Ebola has started at a Medecins Sans Frontieres centre in Liberia, the BBC has reported.
The
antiviral - brincidofovir - is being tested on Ebola patients on a
voluntary basis. People who do not consent to it receive standard care.
Oxford University scientists leading the research say initial results are expected in the next few months.
Female student, father arrested over attempt to smuggle bomb into school in Taraba
THERE was pandemonium at the Federal Government Girls College (FGGC),
Jalingo, Taraba State, as a female student, identified as Blessing,
alongside her father, were caught with a cache of explosives they wanted
to smuggle into the school.
The attempt was foiled as the school internal security operatives
were conducting the conventional stop and search of luggage of all
returning students.
CBN may further devalue naira after elections
The Central Bank of Nigeria’s Monetary Policy Committee might be
forced to devalue the naira again after the general elections scheduled
to hold in February, it was learnt on Monday.
The indication to this effect is coming less than two months after
the MPC devalued the currency on November 25 from 155 to 168 to the
United States dollar.
Sources said the proposed devaluation was because the currency was
already trading at the interbank market below the 160-176 target band
set by the CBN.

a pilot project that hopes to turn human faeces into clean drinking
water in some of the poorest regions of the world.

The
machine, designed by Janicki Bioenergy, an engineering firm based north

Iggy Azalea has strongly denied that she’s ever been married before,
and today she headed to court to battle the marriage claims made by her
ex Hefe Wine.

Nine governors of the ruling Peoples
Democratic Party on Tuesday shunned the inauguration of the Presidential
Campaign Organisation of the party in Abuja.
The organisation, headed by a former
National Chairman of the party, Senator Amadu Ali, is saddled with the
responsibility of selling the candidature of President Goodluck Jonathan
and his deputy, Alhaji Namadi Sambo, to Nigerians for the February 14
presidential election.
But only a handful of the governors were in attendance.

Nigerians that all corrupt politicians will end up in jail once he is
elected into power.
Buhari, who gave the assurance on
Tuesday during the APC rally and the presentation of the party’s
governorship flag to Umana Umana as its candidate in Akwa Ibom State in
Uyo, said he would close all loopholes through which money was being
siphoned out of the country.
Premier League: West Ham's Alex Song retires from international football with Cameroon
Alex Song will be available for West Ham this month after announcing his retirement from international football with Cameroon.
Song had been in Africa talking with key figures in Cameroon's
football federation having been left out of coach Volker Finke's plans
since his sending off against Croatia at the World Cup in Brazil.
The
talks could have seen Song called into Finke's squad for the Africa Cup
of Nations but his retirement means he should be back with the Hammers
squad in plenty of time to prepare for their Premier League trip to
Swansea on Saturday.
Rivers APC members shot as Buhari begins campaign
AT least, one person was feared killed
and many others seriously injured when armed youths shot at vehicles
conveying supporters of the All Progressives Congress from Asari-Toru
and Khana Local Government Areas of Rivers State to the inaugural
presidential campaign of Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.).
The attacks were said to have occurred
at the same time (5.30am) as the party faithful made their way to the
Adokiye Amasiemaka Stadium in Omagwa, Ikwerre Local Government Area.

PDP picks Lagos for Presidential campaign kick-off
The presidential campaign team announced on Monday that the president
would be kicking off his re-election bid in Lagos, on Thursday.
Sources close to the party revealed that the choice
of Lagos was accepted due to the fact that the city hosts the largest
voter population in the country.
It was also decided that as a former Federal Capital, Lagos is a mini
Nigeria, which indicates that talking to the Lagos audience is like
talking to the entire Nigeria.
