Multi-millionaire footballer Wayne Rooney still dabbles on the National Lottery. Despite having an estimated worth of around £80million, the Manchester United captain still allegedly gets his pals to pick him a £2 ticket.
Rooney,
who grew up in the Croxteth, Liverpool, still has the dream of bagging
the top prize despite already having comparable wealth.
A source reportedly told the Daily Star: “Wayne is a working
class boy at heart and despite having millions in the bank, he loves a
flutter on the lottery and dreams of landing a multi-million pound
jackpot."
“He never buys the tickets himself, but he gets mates to buy them for him."
“It’s quite funny when you think how rich he is, but I guess it
proves that no matter how well you’re doing, someone else is always
doing better.”
But Rooney is not the only filthy-rich name to buy a ticket. TV
and music mogul Simon Cowell is among those who have admitted to buying
tickets in the past, but claimed he would take the prize anonymously if
he was victorious.
Liz Hurley, Paris Hilton, George Clooney and Madonna are also believed to have bought tickets in time gone by.
