This is the painful moment a lion got a nasty shock when he tried to take down a water buffalo and ended up impaled on its huge horn - for 20 minutes.
The drama happened when a pride of hungry lions were on the hunt.

looked like being a textbook kill took a twist when a young male lion
ended up getting hooked on the buffalo's horn for 20 minutes.
The
cape bull buffalo was on its own when the five lions got their claws
into it, but it still took 90 minutes for them to finally bring the animal crashing down.
