Los Angeles County sheriff’s officials said on Saturday the former
Olympian Bruce Jenner was in one of the cars involved in a three-vehicle
crash on Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu that killed one person.
Sergeant Matt Dunn said the crash happened shortly after noon, near
Corral Canyon Road. City News Service reported that as many as seven
people may have been injured.
Jenner, 65, won gold in the decathlon at the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal.
Dunn said Jenner was an occupant of one of the vehicles. Jenner’s
publicist, Alan Nierob, says Jenner was unhurt, but offered no
additional details.
A rescue helicopter landed at Pepperdine University, two miles east
of the crash, to pick up one victim. It was not immediately clear if
that was the person who has been declared dead.
