Paris St Germain caught Apoel Nicosia cold to open the scoring 58 seconds into their Champions League encounter in the French capital as they ran out 1-0 winners.
Edinson Cavani struck seconds into the match and that was all it took to claim another three points as PSG remained in the fight to top Group E.
The match had barely begun when Cavani turned in Gregory van der Wiel's cross from the right to put them ahead.
But any fans that were yet to take their seats would be in for a frustrating night as PSG huffed and puffed but failed to find a second goal.
There were early chances for the visitors with Georgios Efrem firing over before Salvatore Sirigu clawed away Franco Vinicius' header.
But from then on it was virtually one-way traffic as PSG piled on the pressure.
Cavani's header struck a post in the 17th minute before Apoel Nicosia goalkeeper Rafael Urko pushed Lucas Moura's shot around the post.
Cavani was then narrowly off target with a header from Ezequiel Lavezzi's corner
The chances continued to pile up with Lucas Moura and Lavezzi both testing the goalkeeper before the break, and they picked up where they left off early in the second half.
Cavani enjoyed two decent sights of goal early on, and then blazed another off the crossbar.
Urko got in a block to deny Javier Pastore, who then contrived - along with Cavani - to waste further chances heading into the final 10 minutes.
With stoppage time looming, Yohan Cabaye saw a shot charged down while Nicholas Ioannou got in a block on Jean-Cristophe Bahebeck's shot.
Blaise Matuidi headed over in time added on - but in the end PSG were left to rely on that early strike. ...SkySports
