Boko Haram kills two, razes churches in Borno village

No fewer than two people were feared dead on Wednesday when a group of terrorists suspected to be Boko Haram sect members invaded Whitambaya village of Hawul Local Government Area of Borno State.
The gunmen also razed down two churches including the Church of Brethren in Nigeria, popularly known as E.Y.N church, as well as residential houses, mostly belonging to Christians.


Whitambaya is a hilly community located at the off shores of River Hawul, and some few kilometers South-East of Haul council area, which has been under series of deadly Boko Haram attacks in the last one month.
An eye witness, Mallam Shaibu Isa, narrated that the gunmen came into the village from Pelachiroma and Dzur villages, which were suspected to have terrorists’ camps in the last one year.
Isa stated that, “a combined group of armed men, in 18 buses, stormed our community at about 3pm on Wednesday, chanting Allahu Akbar (God is Great) and set ablaze two churches, three residential houses belonging to Christian faithfuls before they killed two persons.
“The gunmen had a field day looting some shops and houses; As I am talking to you now, we have lost two of our people, while the other person, who sustained gunshot wounds has been referred to Biu general hospital for treatment”, he explained. ...DailyPost
