Facebook owner, Mark Zuckerberg reveals he found the film "The Social Network" 'hurtful' and tried to 'block it out'

He was the subject of the Oscar winning 2010 film The Social Network.

And four years later, Mark Zuckerberg has finally disclosed his true feelings about the movie which dramatized how he created Facebook.

While speaking at his first open Q&A session on Thursday, the 30-year-old contested the accuracy of the David Fincher flick by revealing,'They just kind of made up a bunch of stuff that I found kind of hurtful.'

During the event, which was streamed on the social media website, an audience member asked how accurate the film's depiction was, in his opinion.

'Wow, I haven't spent a lot of time thinking about that movie in a while. I kinda blocked that one out,' the Facebook chairman and CEO said.

'It was a very interesting experience to watch a movie that was supposedly about my life…supposedly.'

The billionaire added that the real story wasn't as exciting and feels producers took creative license by adding elements to make it more dramatic.

'I think the reality is that writing code and building a product and then building a company actually is not a glamorous enough thing to make a movie about.'

'So you can imagine that a lot of the stuff they probably had to embellish and make up.'

He added: 'If they were really making a movie, it would have been of me, sitting at a computer coding for two hours straight, which probably would have just not been that good of a movie and these guys, I think, want to win awards and sell tickets.'

Zuckerberg believes the filmmakers missed the mark when explaining his motives behind starting the groundbreaking website. The film gave a not true reason behind creating facebook as it gave a perceived view that facebook was started to attract girls while at Havard University, since he never had a good relationship with the opposite sex while in school.

'They went out of their way in the movie to try to get some interesting details correct, like the design of the office, but on the overarching plot, in terms of why we're building Facebook to help connect the world, or how we did it, they just kind of made up a bunch of stuff that I found kind of hurtful,' the Silicon Valley mogul said.

'I take our mission really seriously…The thing that I found the most interesting about the movie, was that they kind of made up this whole plot line about how I somehow decided to create Facebook to, I think, attract girls.'

The Social Network earned over $220 million at the box office and scored three Academy Awards for Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Orignal Score and Best Film Editing. ...DailyMail
