Ahead of next Saturday’s presidential
and national assembly elections and April 11 governorship and state
houses of assemblies’ election, the military has begun training National
Youth Service Corp members in Kebbi State on how to use guns.
According to www.dailymail.com.ng, the
move was to have corps members who would work as adhoc staff for the
Independent National Electoral Commission during the polls, help
soldiers ward off any terrorist attack in the area while voting is
ongoing.
An unnamed serving corps member in Kebbi
who made the news public on Friday in an online post, said corps members were
already undergoing training on how to effectively handle the m60 guns
for the protection of themselves and the polling units they coordinate.
