New Aston Villa manager Tim Sherwood has told fans that the club will have no problem staying up after watching them beat Leicester 2-1 in Sunday's FA Cup fifth-round tie at Villa Park.

The former Tottenham manager was announced as the club’s new boss on Saturday, following Paul Lambert’s sacking earlier this week, and is expected to take full charge in time for their home league game with Stoke on Saturday.

And after watching Saturday's win from the stands, he told Sky Sports News HQ: "I was very encouraged, and they did very well. It becomes a habit, winning. They did well today, a lot of desire, a lot of energy and I’m very impressed."

"We’ll be fine, no problem. [My aim is] winning as many games as we can to stay in that division, that’s it."
