President Goodluck Jonathan has admitted that he never had a telephone conversation with King Mohammed VI of Morocco as claimed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Jonathan made the clarification on Friday in a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Dr. Reuben Abati.
There is currently an ongoing diplomatic row between Nigeria and Morocco over the telephone conversation between the two leaders.
While Nigeria’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement claiming that Jonathan spoke with the Moroccan king, authorities of the kingdom denied the claim and thereafter recalled their ambassador to Nigeria.
