Lukas Podolski is expected to complete a move to Inter Milan by the weekend.
Arsenal
boss Arsene Wenger confirmed the Italian giants have made a new offer
for Podolski and the deal is likely to go through.
Inter are believed to have offered a loan deal with a view to a permanent £5million switch.
It was revealed that Podolski has been left furious that his future with the Gunners is uncertain, but now looks set to get his wish.
Wenger smiled broadly when asked whether Podolski was injured, forcing him to miss the New Year's Day defeat at Southampton.
He
said: “Look, the first proposal was farcical. Of course (we are open to
discussion). After they come back a bit more serious then we will see
what happens. Inevitable in a transfer is very difficult to say, but
we’ll see what happens.”
When asked about Podolski’s injury, Wenger smiled and added: “He has a tight groin.
"He was not available, he was injured. He would have had a big chance to start [against Saints], yes.” ...DailyMirror
