THE Police, on Monday, said that it would bring together the various
political parties and their candidates to sign another peace accord,
ahead the February elections.
The Inspector-General of Police, Mr Suleiman Abba, said this shortly
before he held a closed door meeting with Zonal Assistant
Inspectors-General of Police and Command Commissioners of Police at the
Force Headquarters.
Abba told newsmen that the accord was to get the candidates to
prevail on their supporters to refrain from acts of violence before,
during and after the elections.
It will be recalled that leaders of all the
political parties had signed a peace accord in Abuja in January. ...NigerianTribune
