The now unemployed man claims he got the controversial tattoo four years ago when dating a girl named after the Egyptian goddess of nature.

Emenike faces ban for walking off pitch

Fenerbahçe forward Emmanuel Emenike faces disciplinary action in the Turkish league following his indecent reaction in the derby against Beşiktaş at the Şükrü Saracoğlu Stadium on Sunday.

The Nigeria international tore off his shirt in anger and ran off the pitch, demanding to be substituted in the first half, after his fans booed him for missing a ‘simple’ chance to put the hosts ahead.

It took the intervention of Fenerbahçe manager Ismail Kartal and his technical staff to stop Emenike from walking down the tunnel. Kartal eventually managed to convince him to put his shirt back on and return to the game.

Jonathan deserves praise for giving OPC contract –Gani Adams

The National Coordinator of a Yoruba group, Odua Peoples Congress, Gani Adams, says President Goodluck Jonathan deserves praise from members of the All Progressives Congress for approving a contract for the OPC to protect pipelines across the South-West.

Adams said the contract would provide at least 5,000 jobs for his boys and 10,000 jobs for other youths in the South-West.

Fernando Alonso closer to return in Malaysia after concussion tests

Fernando Alonso will fly to Malaysia for the grand prix on 29 March after having tests to establish whether he has recovered from concussion. The McLaren driver missed the season's first race in Australia on 15 March after a crash in pre-season testing.

 

His adviser Luis Garcia Abad refused to confirm reports in Spain that Alonso had got the all-clear after the tests. 

"It is private so I cannot confirm or deny it, but I have no doubts he will go to Malaysia as planned," he said.

Bayern Munich suffered a first home defeat in 11 months as two mistakes from goalkeeper Manuel Neuer helped Borussia Monchengladbach to a 2-0 win at the Allianz Arena.

A disappointing day for Bayern was compounded as Arjen Robben was ruled out for "several weeks" through injury. The winger tore an abdominal muscle and was forced off after 24 minutes.

Islamic State fanatics returning to Britain could be plotting horrifying attacks using chlorine gas which killed thousands of troops during the First World War.

The warning has been given by one of the world’s top experts in chemical warfare, Colonel Hamish de Bretton-Gordon, the retired head of chemical and biological weapons for the British Army and NATO.

After returning from advising security forces in Baghdad last week, he said he feared an attack by returning jihadis using knowledge of chlorine gas-filled IEDs is “highly likely”.

Loic Remy struck for Chelsea late on to restore their six-point lead at the top of the Barclays Premier League with a 3-2 victory at Hull.

Novak Djokovic clinches Indian Wells title

World number one Novak Djokovic recovered from a second-set battle to beat Roger Federer 6-3 6-7 (5-7) 6-2 in the BNP Paribas Open final. 

The Serb had dominated the opening set at Indian Wells but the Swiss rallied in the second set, coming from a break down to win the tie-break. 

Djokovic, 27, seemed rattled both by Federer and the crowd in the decider. But he regained his composure to win his 50th career title and his fourth Indian Wells crown.

Singapore's founding father Lee Kuan Yew dies at 91

Lee Kuan Yew, the statesman who transformed Singapore from a small port city into a wealthy global hub, has died at the age of 91.

The city-state's prime minister for 31 years, he was widely respected as the architect of Singapore's prosperity. But he was criticised for his iron grip on power. Under him freedom of speech was tightly restricted and political opponents were targeted by the courts.

A state funeral will be held on 29 March, after a week of mourning.

Nigeria win seventh AYC title

Nigeria became the first side to win the African Youth Championship for the seventh time after beating hosts Senegal 1-0 in the final of the 2015 edition at the Leopold Sedar Senghor Stadium, Dakar on Sunday.

It was the second time the two sides would meet in the competition after the Flying Eagles had beaten the Young Lions 3-1 at the group stage where Nigeria topped the group to head into the semi-finals.
